Recognition processor external to the camera. The MiniWalzCAM plate capturing range is up a maximum distance of 5 meters. The camera can handle speeds from 1 to 40 km/h (1 to 25 mph), making it ideal for parking and slow speed traffic monitoring.

The camera can handle speeds from 1 to 40 km/h (1 to 25 mph), making it ideal for parking and slow speed traffic monitoring
Each unit incorporates:
– Integral monochrome camera module, with lens and optical band-pass filter
– Integral infrared (IR) light emitting diode (LED) illuminator which compensates for sunlight and vehicle headlights
– Power supply unit

The unit is environmentally sealed to IP67 to protect against all weather conditions. The LED illuminator used in the WalzCAM have been assessed to Safety Standards IEC 60825-1:1993 Amendment 2 dated 2001-01 and BS EN 60825-1:1994, with Amendments 1 and 2
Mini-WalzCAM ensures that the image is clear and bright, even under adverse conditions.
To accurately read a license plate, it is crucial to have the best image of the license plate for the read to work on. Employing conventional security or surveillance cameras for number plate capturing, will give good results under ideal conditions of diffuse sunlight.
There are however other conditions that cause a severe degradation of image quality and a consequent reduction in accuracy. Such conditions include:

- Headlight or brake lights dazzles the camera
- Strong sunlight dazzles the camera or put the license plate in the shade
- Strong reflections cause glint
- Rain or other environmental conditions can obscure the view
